Competitors could start from various European and French cities. They had to join one of these cities : Evreux, Dieppe, La Baule, Le Havre, Cherbourg, Blois, Poitiers - and from there rejoin La Baule. There, from the 2th to the 4th of September were held classification rounds.

All retired drivers hadn't rejoined La Baule for last part of the competition.
